Have a Seat

Well this is officially my first post regarding Filmmakers Anonymous, so I figure it makes sense to try and summarize what the purpose of this endeavor is. For starters, please forgive me if these first few posts are long-winded or lacking in structure. Like most things in life it is going to take a great deal of trial and error to develop a final product that is both interesting and engaging.

My primary aim is to bring discussions and opinions around film and entertainment directly to your inbox and lives on a weekly basis. Like most people, I’m constantly consuming content through the numerous streaming services at our disposal. Movies and television take up the majority of my free time (especially during a pandemic) and are the subject matter of most of my discussions. While the trades (Variety, THR, Deadline, etc.) certainly do a solid job of breaking the latest news within the industry, I can’t help but feel like there is something missing in the space for average Joe’s in terms of content reviews and opinion pieces on where the industry is heading during this period of immense change. Therefore, I hope to fill that void with these Reflections.

To start, myself and several contributing writers will be creating content for the Reflections tab on a weekly basis. These weekly articles will cover a variety of topics, ranging from simple film and television reviews to more complex breakdowns of industry trends. Moving forward, we hope to gather input from subscribers around what topics they would like to see covered and adjust our Reflections accordingly. That is an open invitation to any of you reading these posts to get involved and help us shape Filmmakers Anonymous moving forward. With that, welcome and feel free to spread the word about what we’re building here.
